APC Urges NASS Intervention in Rivers Assembly Impeachment Plot

The APC staged a protest at its national secretariat in Abuja, urging the National Assembly to take over the Rivers State House of Assembly due to an alleged impeachment plot against Governor Fubara. The group accused the Rivers Assembly of operating outside democratic norms and pursuing personal agendas.

Stakeholders warned of the destabilization of the state government and loss of credibility. Civil society groups dismissed the allegations against Governor Fubara as political fiction.

Speaker Martin Amaewhule and 27 lawmakers loyal to Minister Nyesom Wike were implicated in the crisis.
