APC Drags Makinde Over ₦300 Billion Loan, Accuses Governor of Pushing Oyo State Into Debt

The APC has accused Governor Makinde of pushing Oyo State into debt with a ₦300 billion loan, claiming it was passed without the required majority. Shittu, representing Saki West constituency on the APC platform, alleged that the loan approval deliberately excluded sitting lawmakers.

The APC staged a peaceful protest in Ibadan, criticizing the governor's borrowing record and rising debt profile. Olayide Abas, the state APC chairman, expressed dissatisfaction with the alleged mismanagement of funds by the PDP administration.

Makinde's publicity secretary defended the loan approval as legitimate and in the state's interest, dismissing the APC's protest as a sign of political immaturity.
