APC Endorses Governor Fubara for Second Term in Rivers State Amid Political Shift

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially endorsed Governor Siminalayi Fubara for a second term in Rivers State after his recent defection from the ruling party. This decision was announced by APC's national secretary, Ajibola Basiru, during a meeting in River State.

Fubara's defection has shifted the political landscape in the South-South region, where the APC is now gaining control. The governor's move comes after facing political crises, including opposition from his predecessor Nyesom Wike.

The endorsement signals APC's confidence in Fubara's leadership and electoral prospects for the upcoming elections, including the 2027 general elections. Former presidential aide Ita Enang also highlighted the consensus within APC leadership for Fubara's automatic return ticket.
