APC Leaders Accused of Inviting Bandits into Nigeria

Tola Adeniyi, a former editor of the defunct Daily Times and Nigerian Tribune, accused prominent leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of facilitating the influx of bandits into Nigeria amid rising insecurity. During an interview with podcast host Edmund Obilo, Adeniyi suggested that the current crisis of banditry is not accidental but rather linked to political decisions made during past struggles.

He claimed that APC leaders publicly invited bandits into the country to drive away former President Goodluck Jonathan, asserting that bandits have gained influence within the APC. Adeniyi further stated that bandits were involved in the abduction of 360 girls in Chibok, emphasizing that such actions could not occur without government involvement.

He referenced the late head of state, General Sani Abacha, to illustrate the historical context of insurgency in Nigeria.
