APC Leadership and Governors Move to Rein In Nyesom Wike Over Rivers Crisis

The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and governors are reportedly working to restrain Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Governor, over his disruptive conduct. Wike, who is in conflict with the APC leadership due to his support for the 2027 re-election of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has received backing from key figures like Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.

The rift between Wike and Fubara escalated following disagreements over power-sharing and control of state resources, leading to political tensions and Fubara's defection to the APC in December 2025. The APC is allegedly mobilizing to counter Wike's influence and political maneuvers in Rivers State.
