APC-led State Government Raises Health Workers' Salaries by 95%

The APC-led State Government has approved a significant 95% salary increase for health workers, with the new pay structure taking effect from September 7, 2026. Shehu Baraya, the Head of Civil Service, announced this adjustment in a circular dated September 10, 2026, which was sent to senior officials including the Secretary to the State Government and heads of various ministries.

The revised salaries are aligned with the Federal Government's Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) and aim to strengthen the health workforce, improve staff welfare, and create better working conditions. The circular indicates that the salary review is expected to boost morale and productivity among health personnel.

Additionally, a revised hazard allowance schedule was included, detailing specific amounts for clinical and non-clinical workers across various salary grades. Heads of ministries were instructed to inform affected staff and ensure the implementation of the new salary structure.
