APC Unveils 2026 Congress Roadmap as Defecting Governors Join Progress Governors Forum

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revealed a strategic roadmap for its 2026 congress, focusing on enhancing party structures and internal reforms. Several defecting governors have joined the Progress Governors Forum (PGF) to deepen grassroots engagement and strengthen the party's unity.

The high-level meeting, chaired by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, reaffirmed the commitment to fostering party transparency and accountability. The forum welcomed newly inducted governors and emphasized collaboration to advance the party's goals nationwide.

The PGF endorsed proposals for congresses and conventions, emphasizing transparency in financial management and ensuring fairness across all levels. The forum also announced plans for strategic state visits to reinforce grassroots structures and support governance across the federation.

Notable attendees included Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani. The APC's ongoing e-registration drive coincides with a wave of governors defecting to the ruling party, showcasing a significant political shift.
