NNPCL's Ojulari Launches Nigeria's First Smart Filling Station

The Arewa Youth Council (AYC) commended Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), for the launch of Nigeria's first Smart Self-Service Filling Station. The AYC described the commissioning as a significant advancement in the retailing of petroleum products in Nigeria.

They welcomed NNPCL's plan to establish between 50 and 70 similar facilities nationwide within six months. The new model is designed to transform conventional filling stations into integrated mobility hubs, offering services such as self-service fuel dispensing via a mobile application, digital payment systems, electric vehicle charging points, and solar-powered operations.

The AYC noted that this initiative would benefit motorists and households by reducing queues and enhancing accountability through digital self-service options. They emphasized the importance of accelerating the rollout, particularly in northern and underserved regions, and called for support from state governments and private sector partners.
