Soludo Advocates Judiciary Reforms for State Police

During a Zoom session at an Arise News town hall, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State called for judiciary reforms to facilitate the effective functioning of state police. He expressed surprise that advocates for state police had not previously considered the necessary judiciary reforms.

Soludo highlighted the importance of the judiciary working in tandem with state police to achieve desired justice outcomes. He pointed out that issues within the state judiciary should not be overlooked, as they are crucial for the sustainability of state police.

Soludo criticized the current federal system, noting that it collects 53 percent of federal revenue while states receive only 26 percent, which he deemed unfair. He argued for a revenue reform that would allow states to collect 40 percent of federal revenue, thereby addressing the financial disparities that hinder state police operations.
