DSS Warns of ISWAP Threat in Kogi and Ondo States, Activist Urges Swift Action

The Department of State Services (DSS) alerted the Nigerian Army to a potential terrorist attack by the Islamic State West Province (ISWAP) in Kogi and Ondo states. Usman Okai Austin, a civil rights activist, commended the DSS for its prompt action in uncovering the threat.

He highlighted previous warnings by the DSS regarding potential targets in the region. Austin expressed disappointment in the past failures of security agencies to respond to such alerts, urging proactive measures to prevent casualties.

He called on the governors of Kogi and Ondo to enhance security cooperation and vigilance in the affected areas.
