Major General Auwalu Mahmuda Inspects Troops in Oyo

Major General Auwalu Mahmuda, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, conducted an operational tour in Oyo State, specifically around the Old Oyo National Park and the Igbeti–Igboho–Sepetari Road. During this visit, he urged troops to maintain vigilance, discipline, and an aggressive posture while defending their Areas of Responsibility.

The tour included stops at the headquarters of the 169 Motorcycle Battalion in Ikoyi-Ile and the Abaja Response Area in Oriire Local Government Area. Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, the Acting Deputy Director of 2 Division Army Public Relations, reported that the GOC's visit was part of an ongoing assessment of troop deployments and security conditions.

Major General Mahmuda received briefings on the security situation from Lieutenant Colonel Chiemezie Innocent Asogwa, the Commanding Officer of the 81 Battalion, and Lieutenant Colonel Waziri Gadzama Ayuba, the Commanding Officer of the 169 Motorcycle Battalion. He commended the troops for their efforts and reiterated the importance of military professionalism and readiness to address emerging security concerns.
