Arteta Downplays Arsenal's Nine-Point Lead in Title Race

Mikel Arteta, the current coach of Arsenal, has played down the significance of the club's nine-point lead in the Premier League title race, stating that it does not mean anything at this stage. Following a 3-0 victory against Sunderland on Saturday, which helped Arsenal increase their lead over Manchester City, Arteta warned that the team must concentrate on their own performance rather than the standings.

Manchester City, managed by Pep Guardiola, faces a difficult match against Liverpool on Sunday, and a loss would reduce their margin to six points. Arteta noted that Arsenal is in a good position after snapping a three-game winless streak with two consecutive league victories, but he cautioned against complacency.

The Opta supercomputer predicts a 93.6% chance for Arsenal to become champions, with Manchester City at 4.6%, Aston Villa at 1.6%, and Chelsea at almost 0.1%. Arsenal is set to meet Brentford on Thursday.
