Dr. Betta Edu Drives Women's Mobilisation for 2027 Elections

Dr. Betta Edu, appointed as Director of Women Mobilisation for the APC Presidential Campaign Council in August 2026, is spearheading an extensive women’s mobilisation initiative under the leadership of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu. The campaign aims to engage women at the grassroots level, targeting 176,846 communities and polling units to mobilise 40 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

This initiative marks a shift from traditional campaign strategies, focusing on sustained community engagement rather than just rally attendance. Reports indicate that women’s meetings and community activities are already underway in various states, including Kwara and Rivers, with plans for door-to-door engagement.

The campaign's structure is designed to create a continuous political network that connects women from national to local levels, emphasizing the importance of women as a vital constituency in Nigeria's political landscape.
