Timothy Namo, criticized the government for doing "practically nothing" to resolve key issues, leading to a two-week warning strike declaration. ASUU highlighted concerns over salary increases, welfare, work conditions, and delayed payments, citing a lack of political will to prioritize education.

The union called on students, traditional leaders, civil society groups, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and the National Assembly to pressure the government for concrete action.
