Atiku Abubakar Critiques APC for Nigeria's Economic Issues

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and current presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), attributed Nigeria's economic decline to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during a reception in Akure on Thursday. He noted that Nigeria was the largest economy in Africa from 1999 to 2007 but has since fallen to the fifth position, urging voters to remove the APC from power.

Atiku promised that an ADC administration would restore the fuel subsidy and emphasized the party's commitment to explaining its plans to Nigerians. He also pledged to enhance security across the country, stating that no region would feel insecure.

Atiku called for a change in government, specifically mentioning that "Tinubu must go," and highlighted the importance of voter turnout and vote protection in future elections, referencing the recent Osun State election. He welcomed Eyitayo Jegede, the former PDP governorship candidate in Ondo State, to the ADC, expressing confidence in Jegede's political support.
