Atiku Abubakar Denies Retirement Rumors Ahead of 2027

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has publicly dismissed reports suggesting he plans to step down from the 2027 presidential election and retire from politics. In a statement released on Monday, he labeled these claims as false and misleading, aimed at confusing the public and undermining the momentum of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Abubakar emphasized that no decisions have been made regarding his candidacy and denied holding any meetings with ADC stakeholders at the national level. He clarified that recent engagements with ADC members in Adamawa State were misrepresented.

The statement, issued by his media office, accused unnamed actors of deliberately spreading false information to distract from ongoing political developments ahead of the 2027 general elections. Abubakar urged ADC members and Nigerians to disregard the rumors and focus on collective efforts to reclaim and rebuild the nation.
