Atiku and Makinde Meet Babangida to Discuss Electoral Reforms and PDP Leadership Tussle

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, met with former military president Babangida in Minna, Niger State. The closed-door meeting, which lasted about 40 minutes, centered on electoral reforms, including the electronic transmission of election results and new tax laws.

Also discussed were issues related to the new faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki. The meeting comes amidst a leadership tussle within the PDP, with court cases ongoing, including one in Abuja involving Makinde and other party members.

The PDP's National Working Committee (NWC) is set to hear the case, reflecting a prolonged leadership battle within the party, pitting Makinde's faction against those loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
