Atiku and NBA Criticize Unconstitutional Changes to Nigerian Tax Laws

Former Vice President Atiku and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) have raised concerns over alleged unconstitutional modifications to Nigeria's tax reform acts, citing threats to democratic processes and citizen rights. Atiku condemned the changes as undermining legislative supremacy and due process protections, urging the federal government to suspend the laws pending investigation.

The NBA President, Mazi Afam Osigw, echoed these concerns, warning of legal and policy uncertainties that could harm Nigeria's democracy and economy. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is urged to investigate the alterations.
