Atiku Abubakar Raises Alarm Over Bank Account Breach

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, has expressed alarm over a suspicious credit to one of his private bank accounts. In a statement released on Friday and signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku revealed that the transfer, labeled “Contribution Electioneering Campaign,” was made by an unknown individual.

He stated that neither he nor his campaign authorized or solicited this payment. The statement raised concerns about how unknown persons accessed his confidential banking details, emphasizing that the account is strictly private.

Atiku warned that if such breaches can occur to a former Vice President, no Nigerian's financial privacy is secure. He also highlighted the risk of exposure to criminal elements, including kidnappers and fraudsters.

Atiku notified security agencies and the public of this incident, linking it to a series of suspicious activities ahead of the 2027 elections and urged Nigerians to remain focused amid attempts to tarnish his reputation.
