Atiku Abubakar Urged to Support Southern Presidency Bid by Tinubu Supporter

Tanko-Yakasai, the Director General of a support group for Bola Tinubu, called for the presidency to remain in the South, urging Northern political leaders like Atiku Abubakar and Nasir El-Rufai to support this stance for national unity. He made this appeal while receiving a dummy cheque of 200 million naira from the Northern Nigeria Youth Leader Forum to support Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027.

Tanko-Yakasai emphasized prioritizing the nation's interest over personal ambitions, citing his consistent support for justice in Nigeria's political affairs, including during Goodluck Jonathan's presidency. Meanwhile, the Obidi Movement pushed back against allegations of extremism, emphasizing its commitment to democratic values.

The African Democratic Congress clarified its political coalition platform, emphasizing collaboration without enforcing silence or blind loyalty.
