ATT Urges Tinubu to Include RMAFC in Executive Order Committee

The Arewa Think Tank (ATT) has made a formal appeal to President Bola Tinubu, requesting the inclusion of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) in the implementation committee for his recently signed executive order. This executive order is designed to direct the remittance of oil and gas revenues to the federal account, aiming to safeguard and enhance national earnings while curbing wasteful spending and eliminating structural duplications within the petroleum sector.

Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, a representative of ATT, commended President Tinubu for this bold intervention, which he described as a courageous step towards restoring transparency and accountability in the oil and gas sector. However, Yakubu noted that the RMAFC, which is constitutionally empowered to monitor revenue accruals and disbursements, was not included in the committee.

He respectfully urged President Tinubu to reconsider and include the RMAFC in the implementation process to ensure effective oversight.
