Australia Sets Seven Conditions for Free eVisitor Visa

The Australian Department of Home Affairs has announced seven conditions that foreign nationals must meet to qualify for the free eVisitor visa, which allows multiple entries into Australia within a 12-month period, with each stay limited to three months. First, applicants must hold a passport from an eligible country, as Australian citizens cannot apply.

A character standard is mandatory; individuals with any criminal convictions are disqualified and must apply for a Visitor visa (subclass 600). Health requirements are also in place, directing those who have previously failed to meet health standards to the subclass 600 visa.

Applicants must demonstrate sufficient financial resources to cover living costs and departure expenses. Additionally, any outstanding debts owed to the Australian government must be settled or formally arranged for repayment.

Applicants must confirm their intention to stay temporarily and comply with visa conditions. For minors, the visa may be withheld if deemed not in their best interests.
