Australia Cuts Visa Fees for Citizens of 13 Pacific Nations

The Australian Government has implemented a policy that reduces the visa application fee for citizens of 13 Pacific Island nations and Timor-Leste, effective from 1 July 2026. This initiative applies to the Skills in Demand visa Subclass 482 Specialist Skills stream, aimed at attracting highly skilled workers to fill specialist roles in Australia.

Eligible applicants will benefit from a lower application cost when submitting their visa applications through the online immigration platform, ImmiAccount. Family members accompanying the primary applicant are also eligible for the reduced fee, contingent upon their eligibility being linked to the primary applicant's passport.

The concession is automatically applied during the application process, eliminating the need for additional requests or documentation. This move by the Australian government is part of a broader strategy to enhance labor mobility within the region.
