The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria's aviation chapter is set to launch a N500 million sustainability fund as part of its efforts to strengthen financial governance within Nigeria's aviation sector. This initiative coincides with the chapter's first anniversary, with Ayodel Olatiregun serving as the pioneer chairman. The proposed endowment fund aims to provide sustainable financing for long-term projects, including the development of infrastructure, a permanent secretariat, and a knowledge center equipped with digital and physical learning resources. Olatiregun emphasized the importance of the fund in promoting excellence in aviation finance across public and private institutions. The chapter, inaugurated on April 22, 2025, has grown to 137 members, including regulatory agencies and private operators. Despite challenges in mobilizing funds and member engagement, Olatiregun expressed optimism about the chapter's impact and plans for outreach programs to introduce young people to aviation finance careers. The anniversary celebrations will culminate in a gala night fundraising event.
