Aviation Minister Proposes N184.39bn Budget for 2026

The Aviation Minister, Keyamo, presented a budget proposal of N184,392,160,433.00 for the 2026 fiscal year to the National Assembly (NASS). He expressed appreciation for the unwavering support from the committees and reiterated the ministry's commitment to fostering a strong partnership with the National Assembly to advance the growth and transformation of Nigeria's aviation industry.

The budget proposal aims to modernize safety systems, upgrade digital infrastructure, and strengthen human capacity development across the aviation ecosystem. Keyamo highlighted the ministry's focus on enhancing operational efficiency and regulatory compliance in service delivery, aligning with global best practices.

Notable achievements in the 2025 fiscal year included successfully clearing outstanding debts owed to foreign airlines and significant milestones such as Nigeria's compliance with the Cape Town Convention and the reopening of direct flight operations between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, as well as local airlines enhancing competition and reducing fares.
