Bagudu: Ward-based Development Plan Will Transcend Palliatives, Achieve Genuine Empowerment

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu, highlighted the importance of the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme in achieving genuine empowerment beyond palliatives. The program aims to engage 10 million economically active individuals at the grassroots level nationwide, unlocking entrepreneurship and boosting economic activity.

Bagudu emphasized the need for private sector support in achieving the country's economic reform goals, including the Nigeria Agenda 2050 target of per capita income by 2050. He stressed the importance of government efforts and collaboration with institutions like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in communicating and implementing reforms.

ICAN President, Dr. Haruna Yahaya, praised Bagudu's leadership and sought partnership with the ministry to provide capacity building and technical assistance.

Bagudu welcomed ICAN's support and emphasized the collective duty to explain the reforms to citizens for foundational prosperity.
