Katsina Bandits Release 70 Hostages After Peace Deal - Latest Update

Bandits in Katsina State released 70 hostages following a peace deal with local communities. The agreement, believed to have government approval, led to the release of 40 captives by notorious bandit leader Isiya Kwashen Garwa in Faskari.

This release came after another 30 hostages were freed, totaling 70. The move aims to sustain dialogue and reduce violence in the state.

Despite this, Garwa expressed concerns over a recent military raid, warning against further assaults that could jeopardize the fragile peace deal. The victims, mostly kidnapped from farming settlements, were released to maintain ongoing peace efforts in the region.
