Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has revealed the burial date for late Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, during a State Executive Council meeting in Yenagoa. The funeral program will span four days, starting on January 27 with sports events and tributes, culminating in a requiem mass at St.

Paul's Catholic Church in Ofoni on January 30. The decision was made in consultation with the state-appointed funeral committee, the deceased's family, and the church.

Ewhrudjakpo passed away on December 11, 2025, at the age of 60 after a sudden illness.
