Olatunji Bello, former Secretary of Lagos State Government, revealed how he obtained donations and sold his property in Magodo to build a 540-seater auditorium for students at Lagos State University (LASU) to mark his 60th birthday. Bello described the period as tough but found creative ways to fund the project, appealing to friends for donations and converting a birthday gift into cash.

Rising inflation and the crash of the naira almost derailed the project in late 2023, but Bello remained steadfast in his faith. The auditorium was officially unveiled by the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, who commended the initiative and highlighted the importance of investing in education for human capital development.
