Tein Jack-Rich Disqualified from APC Candidacy in Rivers

Tein Jack-Rich, a 51-year-old billionaire oil tycoon and founder of Belemaoil, aimed to represent the River West senatorial district in Nigeria's National Assembly under the APC ticket. He has a long-standing relationship with the APC, having invested 13 years of loyalty and even expressed presidential aspirations ahead of the 2023 elections.

However, he was disqualified during the party's screening exercise without any public explanation from the APC screening committee. This decision has fueled speculation and disappointment among his supporters, illustrating the limitations of wealth and influence in Nigerian politics.

Despite an appeal to President Bola Tinubu, who described the situation as "disturbing" and "unjust," the party's decision remained unchanged.
