Victor Boniface, the Bayer Leverkusen striker, has hinted at a return to action following a knee cartilage injury that has sidelined him since December. The injury, which required surgery in January, stemmed from a problem that had been affecting him since last summer.

Boniface, who will turn 25 on December 25, has had a challenging injury history, suffering two anterior cruciate ligament tears at the age of 21. Despite these setbacks, he has managed to rebuild his career, previously earning a move to Bayer Leverkusen after a successful stint at Bodo Glimt, where he played a key role in their historic Bundesliga title triumph and won the league's Rookie of the Season award.
