EU's Boost Africa Program Enhances Entrepreneurship in Nigeria

Mr Gautier Mignot, the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, presented the Boost Africa Investment Programme during a press conference on Wednesday, emphasizing its role in fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation across Africa. Launched in 2016, the initiative is a collaboration between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the African Development Bank (AfDB), supported by the EU under its Global Gateway strategy.

Mignot highlighted that the programme has reached 100 companies, mobilized 400 million euros, and supported 15,000 jobs in Sub Saharan Africa, with notable activities in Nigeria. He described Africa's young entrepreneurs as vital assets capable of transforming economies and communities.

The EIB has financed various projects in Africa for years, and Mignot urged stakeholders to focus on unlocking further opportunities for the next generation of entrepreneurs. Mr Moussa Nakoulima, EIB Country Relationship Manager for Nigeria, also spoke about the growing pool of young entrepreneurs in Africa.
