Brazil Rebuilds Squad with Pedro and Raphinha Recall

The Brazilian Football Confederation announced the recall of Chelsea striker João Pedro and Barcelona captain Raphinha for upcoming friendlies against Australia and India, marking the beginning of Carlo Ancelotti's squad rebuilding following Brazil's disappointing performance in the 2026 World Cup. The 26-man squad was revealed on Wednesday ahead of the international window from September 21 to October 6.

Raphinha missed the World Cup due to a hamstring injury, while Pedro was notably left out of the tournament squad. The squad features established players such as Vinicius Junior, Endrick, Chelsea’s Estêvão, Tottenham forward Rayan, and Atlético Madrid forward Samuel Lino, alongside veterans like Gabriel Magalhães, Marquinhos, and Bruno Guimarães.

Neymar is absent from this selection after announcing his international retirement post-World Cup. Notable omissions from the latest squad include Brentford’s Igor Thiago and former Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli, both of whom were part of Brazil’s World Cup team.
