Retired Major General Abubakar Rabe Dies in Captivity

Retired Major General Abubakar Rabe was abducted by bandits in Katsina State two weeks ago while traveling to attend a wedding ceremony in the Matazu area. He was kidnapped alongside his wife.

The Katsina State government confirmed his death, stating that he passed away due to complications arising from diabetes and hypertension. Dr.

Nasiru Muazu issued a statement regarding the circumstances of his death, which was characterized as natural. Governor Dikko Umaru Radda expressed deep condolences to the family of the deceased, describing the incident as a dark moment that underscores the ongoing need to intensify operations against criminal elements.

The governor reaffirmed the state government's commitment to collaborate with federal government security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice and assured residents of the administration's determination to eliminate banditry and protect lives and property across Katsina State.
