ASUU Commences Two-Week Warning Strike in Nigeria

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in Nigeria has started a two-week warning strike after the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum given to the federal government to address challenges in public universities. The strike, led by ASUU President Professor Chris Piwuna, aims to compel the government to honor agreements and resolve longstanding issues within the university system.

The warning strike took effect immediately after the ultimatum expired on Sunday midnight. ASUU branches have been directed to withdraw their services until further notice.
