Atiku Abubakar Alarms Over Suspicious Bank Credit Alert

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, has expressed alarm over a suspicious credit alert received in one of his private bank accounts. The alert, described in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, indicated a transfer from an unknown individual with the narration “Contribution Electioneering Campaign.” Atiku clarified that neither he nor his campaign solicited or authorized this payment.

He raised concerns about the breach of his confidential banking information, questioning how an unknown individual could access the details of a strictly private account. Atiku warned that if such access could occur for a former vice president, the financial privacy of ordinary Nigerians might also be at risk.

He called for a thorough investigation into the transaction and highlighted the potential dangers of unauthorized access to banking records, which could lead to criminal activities. The incident has been reported to relevant security agencies and is seen as part of suspicious developments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
