Dangote Raises Petrol and Diesel Prices Amid Market Pressures

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has confirmed a price hike for petrol and diesel, with petrol now priced at N1,275 per litre, an increase of N75 (5.02%), and diesel at N1,950 per litre, up by N200. This adjustment was announced on Tuesday night and reflects the realities of the international crude oil market, influenced by ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The previous prices were N1,200 for petrol and N1,750 for diesel. The increase signals a potential breach of the N2,000 mark for diesel and is expected to intensify cost pressures across Nigeria's economy.

The adjustment comes at a time when stakeholders are hopeful for increased local refining capacity to stabilize domestic fuel prices. However, Nigeria's reliance on international crude benchmarks means that domestic fuel prices will continue to fluctuate in response to global market trends.
