EFCC Vows to Probe Former South-South Governor Despite APC Defection

The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, emphasized the agency's commitment to upholding the law impartially, regardless of political affiliations.

Okowa, who served as Delta State Governor from 2015 to 2023, is under scrutiny for alleged mismanagement of public funds. The EFCC's stance on investigating politicians defecting to other parties was reinforced by Sylvanus Tahir, the agency's Director of Legal Prosecution.

Additionally, the EFCC recently arrested Lagos socialite Emeka Okonkwo for allegedly abusing currency notes.
