Ex-President Jonathan to Meet Tinubu Over Kanu's Detention for Justice and Peace

Former President Goodluck Jonathan is set to hold talks with President Bola Tinubu over the continued detention of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Jonathan acknowledged the urgency of the matter and aims to approach Tinubu for a resolution.

Kanu, a British-Nigerian activist, was first arrested in Nigeria in 2015 on treason and terrorism charges, released on bail in 2017, fled the country, and was re-arrested in Kenya in 2021 and extradited to Nigeria.
