Nigerian Government Enforces "No-Work-No-Pay" Policy on ASUU Amid Nationwide Strike

The Nigerian government has directed vice-chancellors of federal universities to implement a "No-Work-No-Pay" policy against ASUU members involved in the ongoing strike. The Ministry of Education expressed dissatisfaction with ASUU's continuous industrial action despite calls for dialogue.

ASUU's demands include renegotiating the 2009 agreement, release of withheld salaries, and payment of arrears. Dr.

Tunji Alausa clarified that some academic associations like CONUA are exempt from the strike. The government has mandated the NUC to monitor compliance and submit reports within seven days.
