Fresh Accident on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Injures Several After Joshua Crash

A recent road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway resulted in severe injuries to at least five people, occurring just days after the crash involving former heavyweight champion Joshua. The incident, which took place on January 2, 2026, near Lufuwap, involved a commercial bus that lost control and somersaulted after a tire burst.

Eyewitnesses described the chaotic scene with passengers lying helpless on the ground with injuries to their heads, legs, and other body parts. Emergency responders and concerned citizens rushed to assist the victims, with the police and officials eventually evacuating the injured to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.

The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has been identified as a major accident hotspot, often attributed to factors like tire bursts, speed, and poor vehicle maintenance.
