Nnamdi Kanu Lists Governors and Security Chiefs to Testify in Trial at Federal High Court

Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has filed a list of 23 individuals to testify in his defense at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The list includes former governors, ex-security chiefs, and senior government officials.

The trial, initiated by the Federal Government, relates to various political and security events linked to IPOB, such as the 2017 military invasion of Kanu's residence in Umuahia and the 2020 killings during the #EndSARS protests in Lagos. Notable figures expected to testify include political analysts, human rights advocates, international lawyers, and security intelligence experts.

Kanu's defense team aims to address issues like extrajudicial killings, human rights abuses, and the legality of his rendition from Kenya. The trial is set to commence on October 24, 2025, following Justice Binta Nyako's order.
