U.S. and Nigeria Forces Kill ISIS' Second-in-Command

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that U.S. and Nigerian forces successfully executed a joint military operation that killed Abu Bilal al Minuki, identified as the second-in-command of ISIS.

Trump described the operation as a complex mission that involved direct coordination between U.S. and Nigerian forces, emphasizing the bravery of American troops. He stated that al Minuki was believed to be hiding in Africa and was linked to coordinating terrorist activities for ISIS.

The operation is said to significantly weaken the global network of the terrorist organization. Trump expressed gratitude to the Nigerian government for its cooperation in the mission and highlighted that this action is part of ongoing efforts to combat ISIS in West Africa.

He noted that the operation was authorized in December, targeting ISIS in northwestern Nigeria, and mentioned that no official statement from Nigerian authorities had confirmed the details of al Minuki's death.
