Israel Declares Emergency After Strikes on Iran

Israel has initiated preemptive strikes on Iran, resulting in a nationwide state of emergency declared by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that citizens should remain on high alert following reports of multiple explosions in central Tehran.

At least three loud blasts were reported, and while Iran has not launched a counterattack, Israeli authorities caution that the risk of retaliation remains high. The IDF has prohibited educational activities and gatherings in workplaces, clarifying that essential sectors can continue operations under strict security rules.

Citizens have been alerted to the possibility of missile launches from Iran, with sirens sounding in several parts of the country. Mobile phone alerts have instructed residents to stay close to bomb shelters.

This marks the second direct military confrontation between Israel and Iran, following a conflict in June 2025. The situation is further complicated by Iran's internal unrest and protests against its government, which analysts believe may influence Tehran's response to the latest attacks.
