NYSC Member Arrested for Criticizing Kwara Bridge Project

Segun Ajibar, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), was arrested on Wednesday in Osogbo, Osun State, due to his podcasts that criticized the Kwara State government's controversial bridge rehabilitation project. Sources familiar with the incident indicated that the operation was linked to former Commissioner Abdulquawii Olododo.

Ajibar's podcasts, particularly one titled "Moro Bridge Collapse: Gov Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's 2024 Rehab," questioned the financial transparency surrounding the project, highlighting discrepancies between the reported costs of 27 million naira versus 1.2 billion naira. The arrest was reportedly coordinated by the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), with claims that Olododo was behind the operation.

Ajibar's phone became unreachable shortly after his apprehension, and attempts to contact Olododo for comments were unsuccessful. The incident has drawn attention to the government's handling of public projects in Kwara State.
