Rivers Court Suspends Governor Fubara's Impeachment Case Indefinitely

The Rivers State court has suspended the impeachment case against Governor Fubara and his deputy, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, indefinitely. Justice Florence Fiberesima of the Oyigbo Division in Port Harcourt made the decision to allow the appellate court to address pending appeals before proceeding at the high court level.

The case involves challenges to the impeachment steps initiated by the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, and 26 lawmakers. Chief Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi has been restrained from receiving any impeachment-related communications.

The legal battle is adjourned sine die, awaiting the outcome of the appeals.
