Security Operatives Fire at #FreeNnamdiKanu Protesters in Abuja, Activists Demand Release

Security operatives forcefully dispersed a protest in Abuja led by human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, demanding the release of detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. The protest took place near the headquarters of the Nigerian Communications Commission in the Maitama area of Abuja.

The demonstration, initially peaceful, turned chaotic as security personnel, including police, soldiers, and DSS operatives, fired gunshots and tear gas at the protesters, causing panic and confusion. Sowore and barrister Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu's lead counsel, were present at the protest condemning the government's actions.

The incident highlighted concerns over security forces' handling of peaceful assemblies and human rights violations.
