Nigerian Senate to Address Alleged Christian Genocide Narrative Internationally

The Nigerian Senate is set to debate a motion addressing the alleged misrepresentation of Nigeria as a site of Christian genocide, particularly in international circles like the United States. The motion, titled "Urgent Need to Correct Misconceptions Regarding Purported Christian Genocide Narrative in Nigeria," aims to counter the dangerous narrative gaining traction globally.

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume from Borno South sponsored the motion, highlighting the need to correct misleading claims that could fuel sectarian tensions and distort international understanding of Nigeria's security challenges, which stem from terrorism, insurgency, banditry, and communal conflicts.
