Nigerian Government Approves U.S. Airstrikes on ISIS-linked Terrorists in Sokoto State

The Nigerian Government disclosed that President Bola Tinubu authorized U.S. airstrikes on ISIS-affiliated terrorists in Sokoto State. The operation targeted two major ISIS enclaves within Bauni Forest, leading to the successful neutralization of terrorist elements.

The airstrikes were conducted with the full involvement of the Nigerian armed forces, supervised by key government officials. The operation aimed to confront and eliminate the terrorist threat posed by transnational extremist networks in the region, ensuring border security and stability.

No civilian casualties were reported during the operation.
