Tinubu Declares National Security Emergency Amid Bandit Attacks

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared a national security emergency in Nigeria due to increased bandit attacks. The order includes a massive recruitment exercise for the Nigerian Army and Police, with plans to recruit an additional 20,000 officers.

Security agencies are directed to deploy forest guards to combat terrorism and banditry. Efforts to rescue kidnapped individuals, such as schoolgirls in Kebbi and worshippers in Kwara State, will be sustained.
